Jansen Path to Net Zero
- Sara Harrison will be joining us to present on the Jansen Potash Mine Low Emissions Plan. As a Professional Geologist with over 20 years of experience in geoscience, planning, project management, and strategy, Sara's work crosses the full scope of sustainability and social value, from decarbonization to inclusion and diversity to sustainable supply chains. She is an active board member of the Mining Association of Canada, sitting on the Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) Governance Committee, which is the globally-leading mining sustainability standard. She will be sharing her experience and expertise on how BHP is working to make potash mining more sustainable.
Sara Harrison
is Practice Lead Sustainability for BHP Potash. Her role is to ensure BHP achieves its ambition of building, operating, and growing the most sustainable Potash business in the world. Her work crosses the full scope of sustainability and social value – from decarbonization to inclusion & diversity to sustainable supply chains. She influences across the organization to ensure sustainability & social value are at the forefront of decision-making, alongside leading specific investments to achieve these goals.
Sara is a Professional Geologist has been with BHP for over 20 years gaining extensive experience in geoscience, planning, project management, and strategy. She is an active board member of the Mining Association of Canada, sitting on the Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) Governance Committee – the globally-leading mining sustainability standard. Sara was also previously chair of the Saskatoon Environmental Advisory Committee.
Sara is originally from central British Columbia and is an outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking, cycling, and gardening, and has been passionate about the environment and sustainable development throughout her life. For the last 10 years, she has lived in Saskatoon with her husband and two children.
