Title - Introduction to pumped storage hydro
Jim will present an introduction to pumped storage technology and provide some project examples

Jim Law
is a civil engineer and hydro professional with over 30 years of diverse experience in the water resource and hydroelectric industry. Jim is experienced in all aspects of the industry from site assessments and feasibility studies, rehabilitation and redevelopment of existing dams and generating facilities and the development of greenfield hydro and pumped storage projects. He has significant experience as an Independent Engineer providing advisory, technical review and support to both developers and lenders for a range of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, greenfield project development and portfolio refinancing.

Jim was Project Manager for the Chaudière Hydro Redevelopment project (29 MW), Project Director for the Hull 2 Rehabilitation Project (32 MW), Project Manager for the Kayan River Development (2,500 MW) engineering study and Project Manager and Technical Lead for the Sweetwater Pumped Storage Project (600 MW) in New Mexico. He is currently Project Manager leading the teams for the both the Ontario Pumped Storage Project (1000 MW) in Meaford, Ontario and the Tent Mountain Pumped Storage Project (320 MW) in Alberta.
