Title - Developing the Sustainable Energy Economy of Saskatchewan
To kick us off for the new year with will hear from Mark Akerman and learn about his work with the Saskatchewan Sustainable Energy Management Corporation (SSEM). Mark will share some of the high points of the business development and details of SSEM’s Ten Year Project. Come to the session prepared to hear and discuss big ideas facing the future of our energy system. To learn more, here are some resources related to his presentation:

Mark Akerman, M.Ed.
Mark lives in the Saskatoon area. His career included the trades and manufacturing processes. He attended both U of R and U of S, specializing in industrial education, teaching industrial arts in public schools. After his master’s degree, he moved into mining and organizational workforce development, acquiring a wealth of information working in diamond, potash and uranium mining. He followed his keen interest in sustainable energy development over the past 20 years and became director of SSEM-Saskatchewan Sustainable Energy Management Corp in 2017. For the past 5 years, his focus has been on developing the sustainable energy economy in Saskatchewan to maximize our local community economies and participation.
