Coal communities in transition: Supporting Saskatchewan communities and renewable energy
In this presentation, members of Climate Justice Saskatoon will provide an overview of their work building relationships with the rural coal communities of Estevan and Coronach. We will provide an overview of what we did, what we heard, and some major similarities and differences between our perspectives as a basis of moving forward on complex issues of energy and climate change. We will talk about what these communities require to transition away from coal and the need for better relationships and communication to build confidence in renewable energy technology.
