Confederation Inn

“Rob Dumont Principals in Action”.
Discussed at this EMTF breakfast will be how to put the energy management principals we have learned from our Saskatchewan pioneers and put them into action. Presented will be detailed summary of Palibroda's personal GHG emissions, how their household achieved a 50% reduction in emissions and how others can do the same. The breakfast meeting will conclude with a discussion of some ideas for the near future that encourage and celebrate positive change.

Dave Palibroda - works as a Building Automation Specialist at the University of Saskatchewan and has worked in the green building industry for over 15 years.

Dave is the organizer of Green Drinks Saskatoon and is on the board of the Saskatoon CarShare Co-operative. As a part of the Renewable Rides Program the CarShare Co-op recently added electric vehicles to their fleet. The EV's are fuelled with Solar Power provided by the SES Solar Co-op. Cycling is his year-round primary mode of transportation, and regularly uses public transit and car share vehicles.

Dave builds small scale renewable energy systems, upcycles, practices the lost art of fixing things, engages in permaculture practices, has developed a small at-home food forest, tries to support local co-operatives and volunteer in the community every opportunity. Over the past 10 years Dave and his partner Tia have reduced their personal GHG emissions by 50% and their annual GHG emissions are 70% less than the average Canadian.
