Upcoming EMTF Event: Our last presentation of the term, Wednesday June 3rd, will be over Zoom by Claire Kraatz and Amanda Bryant.
Methane Pollution from the Oil and Gas Industry and its growing impacts on our health, climate, and communities. - The presentation will explore why methane is such a potent greenhouse gas, examine the importance of monitoring and tracking emissions to ensure accountability and compliance, and discuss Canada’s new federal methane regulations, which aim to reduce methane emissions by 72% by 2030. Speakers will also highlight how strong provincial equivalency agreements can help unlock economic growth, create jobs, and position Canada as a leader in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Claire Kraatz - is a mother, educator, and environmental advocate. Born in beautiful Alberta, Canada, she's motivated by a profound connection to the well-being of people and our planet. She co-founded For Our Kids Alberta, a parent-led group driving climate action in a province where oil and gas are central to the economy. Focused on clean air to support young people's health and learning, Claire unites parents and caregivers striving for a sustainable future. She is building a resilient network advocating for strong methane regulations, a renewable energy revolution, and meaningful change to protect children, communities, and Earth!
Amanda Bryant - is the manager of the Pembina Institute's oil and gas program, based in Calgary. She conducts research and analysis to identify evidence-based policy solutions to address oil and gas sector emissions and liabilities.

There, she worked to bring a policy dimension to the lab’s measurement work. She then worked as a consultant at the Pembina Institute before joining the organization full time in 2023.
