Presentation:
Urban municipalities play a critical role in responding to climate change. Cities account for 70% of the worlds’ total energy related carbon emissions, the largest contributing sector to global emissions. Urban municipalities are also well-versed to provide mitigation efforts in the transportation and waste sectors, as provision of these services to residents is often influenced directly by the municipality.

Mitigation efforts alone are not sufficient to respond to the risks inflicted by climate change, or the planning required to respond to our shifting environment. This presentation will summarize how the City of Saskatoon is supporting the climate change effort, and what individuals can do to contribute to these efforts.
